Cells oval to triangular or nearly spherical in shape measure 16-26 µm long and 12-20 µm broad. Anterior end slightly narrowly rounded with apical groove extended up to 3/4 of cell length and posterior end broader with short sharp point or slightly curved conical tail. Pellicle longitudinally striated; chloroplasts small, discoid and numerous; paramylon one to two, rounded or discoid in shape.
